One of my friends started talking about it over dinner the other night. He was telling us about this doll that could move its head, arms, and legs and each one of us was left in awe.All our faces showed a mixture of confusion, curiosity and amusement – as if we couldn’t decide if we were impressed or appalled.
The first thing that came to my mind was how weird it would be to have an andriod 18 doll ‘partner’? I mean, who would even want such a thing?The thought was bizarre and I just couldn’t wrap my head around it.

But, I just couldn’t shake the feeling that it’s not as crazy as it seems.I couldn’t help but imagine that for someone, the idea of using a robotic doll for companionship could be really appealing and might provide a degree of comfort.
Still, I’m sure there are many aspects I’m not considering. One being that robotics might not be as emotional or interactive as a real flesh and blood companion.And there’s also the fact that these robotic dolls, at least up until now, haven’t been designed to perform any particular duties.
